Following a previous announcement of his intentions to run for the US presidency, rapper, Kanye West is now qualified to appear on Oklahoma state’s presidential ballot in the general election.

In a tweet by the Oklahoma State Election Board, the 43-year-old became eligible after meeting the requirements before the filing deadline.

"Independent presidential candidate Kanye West has qualified for the General Election ballot in Oklahoma. (Today is Oklahoma's deadline for Independent & Unrecognized Party presidential candidates to file statements of candidacy with their petitions or filing fee.)," the tweet read.

Kanye whose representative filed the necessary paperwork and paid the $35,000 filing Wednesday afternoon was one of three independent presidential candidates to pay the filing fee prior to the deadline

The Oklahoma Board of Elections spokeswoman Misha Mohr revealed that the two others were concert pianist Jade Simmons and cryptocurrency entrepreneur Brock Pierce.

There are however doubts about his bid for the 2020 presidency, having already missed the deadline to qualify for the ballot in several states.
