Soccer Academy to empower 300 youths on sport

Marasata Soccer Academy, had concluded plans to empower 300 youths in sports training.

Mr. Martins Asata, Coach of Marasata Academy disclosed this during a media briefing in Lagos, on Wednesday.

He said that the Academy was inaugurated in January 2004 and since then been grooming young players on the modern day’s techniques and tactics of world-class soccer.

According to him, the Academy gives the vibrant youths the opportunity to achieve their ambition of playing/studying within Nigeria/overseas and to be a world-class professional player in the years to come.

“300 youths will be trained in soccer and they shall be accorded the opportunity to travel abroad to play with their foreign counterpart.

“Many of our players have traveled abroad to exhibit their talents which were later signed by foreign football academy while some were given a scholarship.

“Such an opportunity still awaits our new and upcoming footballers, hence, requires them to register with this Marasata football academy.

“The registration is free but any interested members that want to join the football academy will pay a token of N5,000. It will accord such members lots of opportunities accrued to the Academy at home and abroad,” he said.

He added that Marasata Soccer Academy is a non-profit-making organization with the primary aim of developing soccer at the grass-root level, thus assisting players to realize their full potential.

The Academy also compliments the efforts of other bodies as the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in developing soccer to an enviable height in Nigeria.

Asata said that the Academy would embark on a one-week training of youths on soccer and the best players shall be selected for national and international football tournament trials.

He said that to participate in such sporting activities, individuals would pay a token of N5,000 and shall be rewarded at the end of the tournament.

He mentioned some of the event activities as, Academic membership trial dated 12th-16th of October 2020 at Greenfield Stadium by Marwa Bus Stop, Lekki Phase1, Lagos State.

Other activities as Professional soccer trials, trials for U.S.A trip (School Soccer), Weekend/Monthly fitness training for corporate bodies/individuals, and 6-Aside tournaments.

Asata enjoined every lover of soccer and intending footballer to key into this opportunity for self-discovery and promoting his or her talent to the world via Marasata Soccer Academy.

Earlier, Mr Yisa Sofoluwe, Coach Head, Marasata Soccer Academy, said that the forthcoming tournament would serve as an avenue for the discovery of young talented youth on soccer.

Sofoluwe, also the Ex-super Eagles team added that, he would double as one of the screening coach on the day of the event.
