Replacing Ferguson with Moyes was a mistake, it still haunts them - Chicharito

Former Manchester United striker, Javier Hernandez aka Chicharito, has said that the club is still hunted by the mistake they made by replacing Sir Alex Ferguson with David Moyes.

Sir Alex handed over the defending champions to Moyes in 2014, the last time United won the Premier League, and the team went from glory to stories of a sacking spree, fans protest, shattered records and many nightmares.

United have endured six years of struggle beginning the sack of Moyes, followed by Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

Moyes was axed just EIGHT months into his reign, with United struggling.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now in charge, former West Ham striker Hernandez, one of Ferguson's last signings, aired his opinion about his former club on Rio Ferdinand’s Locker Room show on YouTube.

The Mexico hitman, now at LA Galaxy, admitted it was the "impossible" job to replace Ferguson at Old Trafford after nearly 25 years of success.

Talking about his time working with Moyes, Hernandez said: “We didn’t ever have anything personal - Moyes and myself - but it was a mistake that they took him. It was a mistake.

"It was the first mistake but it’s still haunting them now.

“Not because of him, he was not a bad manager, but they thought they were going to take the replacement of the boss, of Sir Alex, so quick. It’s impossible.

“Not even now, even with Guardiola, Mourinho and Klopp, they are not on the same level as the boss even now.

"They are on the way of trying to get there, to be those kind of managers and they could get there."
