Nigeria’s table tennis player, Offiong Edem has stated that she is content with her performance at the Olympics in spite of the fact that she exited the game in the second round.

She suffered a 1-4 defeat to America’s Lily Zhang in a second-round match of the Women’s singles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Monday.

This brought her journey in the games to an end after winning just one victory.

According to Edem in an Instagram post, she gave everything, but she wasn’t a match for the Chinese-born American opponent.

She further showed her gratitude to the teaming fans and coaches for their overwhelming support.

“She was too good for me to handle its a privilege playing against world no: 30. But that notwithstanding I did my very best. I’m very satisfied with my performance. Dear fans friends and loved ones, I just feel moved to write this, because thanks, doesn’t feel like enough to me.

“If I could hug each and every one of you, I would. I would like to thank all of you who have fanned me or have spread my name around I really do appreciate that. Also, thank you to those fans who have really given me so much great ideas on and off the table,” she wrote.
