Coronavirus: Playing behind closed doors, no problem - Lampard

Frank Lampard Frank Lampard

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has given his opinion on the possibility of playing Premier League matches behind closed doors because of Coronavirus.

The deadly virus is fast spreading into various countries in the world since it originated from the Hubei province of Wuhan, China.

Since the outbreak began in December, according to Reuters, 100,000 people have been infected worldwide and more than 3,000 killed, mostly in China.

Although many sports competitions have had to be called or postponed due to the outbreak, Lampard believes that playing behind closed doors can be achieved if properly planned.

"It wouldn’t effect anything with preparation," he said. "Obviously it would change the atmosphere, but we’ll have to see. There are some things that are more important.

"We’re not shaking hands. It's the protocol followed by doctors and we're doing everything that we can do," the former Chelsea player said.[BBC]
