Aston Villa's survival battle goes down to the wire after defeating Arsenal 1-0 at the Villa Park on Tuesday night.

THe Gunners headed into the game having defeated champions Liverpool 2-1 in their last Premier League match and Manchester City 2-0 in the FA Cup semifinal, with the hopes to keep their European qualification alive.

Their hopes were dashed following the defeat but it was a plus for Villa who moved out of the relegation zone by swapping spots with Watford who were thrashed 4-0 by City.

Trezeguet's 27th minute goal gave Villa a brilliant chance of avoiding relegation; if they can match whatever result Bournemouth and Watford get on the final day.

The Villans go into their last league match away to West Ham (who have 37points) levelled on 34points with Watford who would face Arsenal at the Emirates.
