The inspector general of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has advised State governors to work on issues regarding education and employment as a way of tackling insecurity.

Adamu made this known after holding a meeting with lawmakers at the House of Assembly on February, 5, 2020.

According to the IGP, security issues should not be left to security operatives alone.

"If it is lack of employment, if it is lack of education or those issues that will require intervention by the government, the state governors should take responsibility, local government chairmen should take responsibility," Adamu said.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honorary Femi Gbajabiamila, has directed service chiefs to take the bull by the horn in regards to insecurity in the country.

Gbajabiamila gave the directive after a meeting with the service chiefs at the House of Assembly complex in Abuja.

He said: ?” We must think outside the box; we must take the battle to these criminals whatever they are?... It’s major in our legislative agenda and we must address it frontally, squarely.”
